World Water Prayer Day

A Collective Prayer for the Poudre River

Saturday, August 8, 2026
4:00 pm
Martinez Park, Fort Collins
Free gathering

On World Water Prayer Day, you are invited to gather with me beside the Poudre River for a collective offering of prayer and song.

This global day of prayer was called forward by the 13 Grandmothers as an invitation to remember the sacredness of water and to offer our prayers for the healing and restoration of the waters of the Earth.

We will meet at 4:00 pm on August 8, at the close of the Lion’s Gate portal, to offer our gratitude to the Poudre River and pray for her waters to heal and be restored to flow.

This will not be a formal ceremony. We will simply gather beside the river, offer prayer and song, and spend a short time listening and giving thanks. We expect to be together for approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

You are welcome to bring a natural offering that feels appropriate to give the river in gratitude for all she provides to us and to our other-than-human kin. Please choose something that will not harm or disrupt the river or the beings who live there.

Location

We will gather at the Poudre River in Martinez Park, near the swimming hole and the blue bridge over the river.

Follow the path toward the river and look for the blue bridge. You should be able to find us easily.

What to Bring

Bring whatever will help you feel comfortable gathering outdoors, along with a natural, river-safe offering if you feel called to bring one.

There is no cost to attend, and no registration is required.

Lunch Date with Your Soul

Suggested donation $10 in support of Kari’s low income endowment fund

This live session is led by Sheau Lee of Loleti Loving Light, a practitioner working at the intersection of ancestral healing, somatic awareness, and soul level guidance.

In this session, Sheau supports participants in gently identifying emotional and energetic patterns that may originate from ancestral lineage or past life experiences. Through embodied and nervous system aware practices, participants are guided to safely release, integrate, and reconnect with deeper aspects of self and lineage wisdom.

This session is especially supportive for those who have begun ancestral lineage healing work and are looking to deepen integration at the body and soul level. The practices are designed to be accessible, grounding, and respectful of each person’s unique pace and capacity.

Solstice Ancestor Circle

Winter Solstice marks the return of the light, from this season of darkness when we are held deep in the cocoon of integration, rest and repair. We reflect on the ancestral connections awakened within us this year, and set our intentions for how we want to incorporate them in the new year to come.

Ancestor Honoring Circle for Samhain

A potent season to be communicating with the dead - Samhain, Halloween, Day of the Dead, Pchum Ben, and many other traditions of honoring ancestors occur this week for a reason - the veil between us is thin! We’ll begin with a short ancestor honoring ritual, followed by circle time to share how our work with our ancestors is going. An opportunity for those who are interested in ancestral healing work to hear from others who have begun the journey.
